All About Geri Rene
My name is Geri Rene. I grew up in a tiny town called Marble Colorado. My childhood was a paradoxical world. I loved the mountains, trees and wildness that my unordinary childhood afforded but it was also a childhood lived in the shadow of abuse and neglect. My life goal is to not allow the dark places of my childhood to make me hard or cynical. I will turn my hurt into knowledge and empathy. I will mend together my damaged pieces with purpose, poems, and paint.
I write, paint, and live in Florida. I have been married to my best friend for twenty-five years and we are raising two incredible sons, who have had a childhood filled with wildness, but who will never live in the kind of shadows that I did. I love to travel, volunteer with animal shelters and camp. Much of my work is inspired by nature and love of animals.
